Salisbury Cathedral has the tallest church spire in England and it houses one of only four surviving copies of the Magna Carta, but these are only two reasons for visiting this delightful Wiltshire city. It is an ideal place from which to explore the Salisbury Plain and Stonehenge is only eight miles away. The whole area has a bygone and pagan feel with ruined bronze age forts, roman roads and chalk carvings dominating the area. In the evening, you can return to the city and join a popular ghost tour.
