Leeds sits in West Yorkshire and is the administrative centre for the area. The city grew rapidly during the Industrial Revolution and a lot of that heritage can still be seen today. Like the other northern cities such as Newcastle however, Leeds has re-invented itself for the modern age, and a lot of the city has been regenerated. It is now famous for it's shopping and has been dubbed 'The Knightsbridge of the North' by Lonely Planet guides. It has also won many tourism awards in recent years and main attractions include the Royal Armouries, Leeds Art Gallery, and the Henry Moore Institute.
